How to Turn a Scarf into a Vest + Brightly Twisted/ShopLately Giveaway!
I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! I’m starting this Monday off with a fun and easy tutorial on how to turn your favorite scarf into a vest that you can wear for the summer! I’m also going to be hosting a giveaway at the end of this blog post where one lucky reader will win a lavish hand dyed scarf from Brightly Twisted and ShopLately.Com, valued at $95!
Keep reading for the scarf vest tutorial and giveaway details!
Scarves are a great accessory, particularly for the summer since they can really help create a fresh and different look. This scarf-to-vest tutorial is ultra simple, doesn’t require any thread or needle, and takes only five seconds!
The scarf that I am using for this tutorial is a pashmina scarf by Brightly Twisted and it can be found here.
1) Fold the scarf in half horizontally. (The longer and wider the scarf, the better the result will be. The length of the scarf determines the size of the arm holes and the width determines how long and where the vest will fall on the body. The dimensions of the scarf that I am using are 62” L x 28” W.)
2 & 3) Take the top two corners of the folded scarf and tie them in a small knot, using the least amount of fabric as possible.
4) Open up the folded scarf and there is the creation of two arm holes for your vest!
How super easy was that?! This is a fun and effortless technique to incorporate scarves into your summer looks and is also a great way to freshen up your wardrobe!

i really didn’t know how to follow up that whole beer / wine table post, so i thought to myself, “self? what do people who drink beer and / or wine do?” and the answer was : who the hell knows. but these are cute. and i want one. see kate sew has made a clutch that i would absolutely carry around, and i would be proud to answer “it was meeeeeeeeee!” when i get out of the elevator because i can’t tell a lie!
